Apparel - Softgoods Purchasing Agent

This position is a key member of the NHS Apparel Department, reporting to the Apparel Purchasing Manager, working closely and cooperatively with Apparel Purchasing team, Apparel Dept. Manager and Apparel Developers. This is a full-time, in-house position. Must live near or be willing to relocate to Santa Cruz, CA.

Job Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Key Account Purchasing

    Works as a liaison between Sales, Warehouse & Suppliers on key account orders.
    Maintain KA tracking sheet between Sales and Purchasing to ensure all orders are accounted for
    Review and order raw and finished good materials for all KA orders
    Manage status of KA orders and communicate between vendors and Sales department
    Work with Purchasing Assistant and Shipping teams on packaging/finishing and vendor shipments of KA orders for on time delivery

  • Manage mid-season special delivery prebooks
    Extract all PB order #’s from system and work with Apparel Purchasing, Management and Sales to determine order volume.
    Review and order raw and finished good materials
    Manage status of orders and communicate between vendors and Sales department if issues
    Work with Purchasing Assistant and Shipping teams on packaging/finishing and vendor shipments for on time delivery

  • Process seasonal salesman sample orders for custom and printable raw and finished goods Create tracking for incoming salesman sample orders to track multiple shipments, receiving with Developers and correct order entry of pick tickets with sales
    Work with Apparel Assistant to set sample room and arrange packing schedule for sales rep and distributor shipments

  • Manage trims inventory from nominated suppliers and process seasonal needs

  • Enforce Apparel Vendor Guidelines for all orders responsible for.

  • Attend weekly purchasing meetings

    Requirements:

  • 1+ Years Purchasing experience preferred

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other word processing applications such as MS Office is a must.

  • Knowledge of standard office practices and procedures

  • Computer processing knowledge

  • Must have timeline management experience and be disciplined, organized, and able to multi-task in a fast-

    paced group environment.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Must be creative when it comes to solving problems. Be proactive and self-directed.
