Consumer Warranty Policy

NHS, Inc Warranty - We've Got Your Back

To submit a warranty claim, please fill out our Warranty Claim Form. You will receive a reply by email to start the claim process. A warranty technician will review your claim and any associated images to determine whether you need to send your product in for further inspection and / or produce proof of purchase and detailed matching images for confirmation.

NHS will make every effort to process your warranty claim within a reasonable time frame. Our warranty technicians are generally available most Mondays through Fridays, 8am to 5pm PST or PDT.

All claims are at the sole discretion of the warranty technician and NHS staff. Our intent is to honor legitimate warranty claims and replace defective product for our customers.

All NHS manufactured skateboard components are warranted against manufacturer defect in materials or workmanship for 120 days from date of purchase. Proof of purchase from an authorized dealer may be required.

NHS manufactured apparel and accessories are warranted against manufacturer defect in materials or workmanship for 90 days from date of purchase. Proof of purchase from an authorized dealer is required.

Santa Cruz Snowboards are warranted against manufacturer defect in materials or workmanship for 1 year from date of purchase. Proof of purchase from an authorized dealer is required.

Following is a brief overview of what is generally covered under warranty by product category. Please read the coverages before submitting a claim.

Skateboards

Within 120 days of purchase, proof of purchase may be required.

Covered by warranty:

  • Delamination
  • Warpage
  • Any defect in materials or workmanship after purchase

Not covered by warranty:

  • Broken board due to impact, improper landing
  • Exposure to environmental elements
  • Stress cracks, water damage
  • User error
  • Improper set up or maintenance
  • Normal Wear

Trucks

Lifetime Warranty*.

Covered by warranty:

  • Manufacturer defect in materials or workmanship
  • Axle bending
  • Axle slipping
  • Casting anomaly
  • Axle deformation anomaly
  • Threading issues at point of purchase
  • Wiggling kingpin or shaft nut

Not covered by warranty:

  • Normal wear
  • Loss of function due to improper set up, maintenance, or alteration
  • Deformed mounting holes due to not keeping hardware tight
  • Cushion damage due to over tightening kingpin nut (ask us about available aftermarket cushions and how to customize your set up)
  • Axle stripping or damage due to improper use or failure to use bearing spacers and axle washers
  • Issues after lifetime of wear*
    • *The lifetime of a skateboard truck is considered to be over when the hanger is ground down to the axle.
  • Spare parts
    • Spare and upgrade parts are available at your local skateshop or at NHS Skate Direct
    • Some truck parts are available on request, fill out a warranty claim if you have feel you have an individual part that needs replacement.

Wheels

Within 120 days of purchase, proof of purchase may be required.

Covered by warranty:

  • Manufacturer defect in materials or workmanship
  • Wheel wobble
  • Bearing seat expansion / loose bearing seat

Not covered by warranty:

  • Flat spots
  • Normal wear
  • Chipping / tearing urethane due to sharp objects or obstacles
  • Any damage due to impact or contact with any obstacle whether natural or man-made or any damage either purposeful or by accident that cannot be defined as a defect in material or workmanship.

Bearings

Within 120 days of purchase, proof of purchase may be required.

Covered by warranty:

  • Manufacturer defect in materials or workmanship
  • Failure of ball bearing cage, balls, or races

Not covered by warranty:

  • Failure due to improper maintenance or cleaning
  • Bent shields or failure from improper installation or tool damage
  • Water damage or rust

Griptape

Within 120 days of purchase, proof of purchase may be required.

Covered by warranty:

  • Adhesive failure
  • Grit separation

Not covered by warranty:

  • Water / dirt damage
  • Normal wear

Component Accessories

Hardware, risers, rails, replacement parts - Within 120 days of purchase, proof of purchase may be required.

Covered by warranty:

  • Manufacturer defect in materials or workmanship
  • Missing parts

Not covered by warranty:

  • Normal wear
  • Improper installation or use

Apparel & Accessories

Within 90 days of purchase. Proof of purchase is required.

Covered by warranty:

  • Manufacturer defect in materials or workmanship
  • Misprints, dye migration, bleeding, off center prints
  • Seams coming undone
  • Zipper defect in function or stitching
  • Buttons missing or coming unraveled
  • Buckles, straps, fasteners not functioning properly

Not covered by warranty:

  • Normal wear and tear
  • Intentional or accidental damage
  • Misuse or negligence
  • Alteration
  • Improper care
  • Shrinking
  • Improper fit
  • Ripped fabric or seams
  • Torn / ripped off buttons
  • Stained / dirty

Snowboards

Within 1 Year of purchase. Proof of purchase is required. Inventory may not be available.

Covered by warranty:

  • Top sheet, base, or sidewall delamination due to manufacturing defect
  • Structural stress cracking on top sheet, base, sidewall, or edge not due to impact
  • Improperly drilled or spinning inserts
  • Improperly threaded inserts at point of purchase
  • Major performance blemish or anomaly at point of purchase

Not cover by warranty:

  • Normal wear
  • Damage due to improper setup, maintenance, or storage
  • Water damage or rust
  • Cosmetic damage like scratches, dents, and chips that can occur under normal use.
  • Damage caused by bindings
  • Damage caused by chairlift or contact with other skis and snowboards.
  • Damage caused by solvents, adhesives, or Loc-Tite
  • Any damage due to impact with rock, handrail, or any obstacle whether natural or man-made or any damage either purposeful or by accident that cannot be defined as a defect in material or workmanship.

Bindings

Within 1 Year of purchase. Proof of purchase is required. Inventory may not be available.

Covered by warranty:

  • Defect in material or workmanship
  • Missing parts at point of purchase
  • Broken baseplate or heel cup not due to impact

Not covered by warranty:

  • Lost parts
  • Cosmetic damage like scratches, dents
  • Normal wear
  • Damage caused by boots including holes or tears in straps
  • Damage caused by chairlift (always collapse your high back when loading the chair)
  • Damage caused by solvents, adhesives, or Loc-Tite
  • Any damage due to impact with rock, handrail, or obstacle whether natural or man-made or any damage either purposeful or by accident that cannot be defined as a defect in material or workmanship.
