Apparel Product Developer

The ideal candidate has previous experience in developing custom apparel overseas and screen-printed garments, solid communication skills and experience taking a design through the development process to production ready. You are a self-starter with an acute attention to detail, who takes direction well. Please note this is a Full-Time, Hybrid position with at least three days per week in office at our Santa Cruz, CA. headquarters.   

Position Summary: 

Jump into an exciting role where you'll bring a wide range of apparel to life—everything from custom cut-and-sew garments to trendy printables and must-have accessories for all ages, from infants to adults. You’ll own the entire journey, from creative development to final production, making sure each piece is crafted to perfection. You'll work closely with design teams, hunt for the best materials, and communicate with local and global factories to ensure everything runs like clockwork. Your responsibilities include reviewing samples, tracking timelines, setting costs, and making sure every project nails the designer’s vision while staying within budget. Plus, you’ll stay ahead of the game by keeping up with the latest industry trends, construction techniques, and printing methods, ensuring every collection shines. 

Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to): 

  • Responsible for every step from design handoff to production ready of our custom garments and accessories. Including:  
  • Working with overseas vendors to source materials, trims and develop garments and accessories for men, women and kids. 
  • Working with domestic vendors to develop printables for select categories.  
  • Track development to meet deadlines 
  • Creating tech packs, reviewing samples, leading fit reviews with design and development teams.  
  • Checking for quality and coming up with creative ideas to solve production challenges.  
  • Working with design to make their vision come to life. 
  • Setting target pricing and negotiating cost.  

Who you are:   

You’re a pro at turning design dreams into reality, working closely with vendors to get custom garments production-ready. With a sharp eye for detail, you know the ins and outs of the development process and all the sample stages. Problem-solving is your superpower, whether it's tackling production hurdles or keeping costs in check. You love collaborating with design teams, making sure their vision jumps off the sketchpad and into the real world. In a fast-paced environment, you're the organized multitasker who keeps everything on track and moving smoothly. 

Experience: 

  • 3-5 years of apparel product development experience, including cut-and-sew. 
  • Bachelor’s degree required. 
  • Strong understanding of product development, garment fit, construction, and material sourcing. 
  • Familiarity with printables, accessories, and industry trends. 
  • Experience sourcing trims, preparing technical packages, and following style guides. 
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with domestic and overseas vendors. 
  • Ability to manage projects, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and stay organized. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Illustrator; experience with Google Suite, Asana, and Ziflow is a plus. 
  • Creative problem-solving with a proactive, self-directed approach. 
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

Salary Range: $60,000.00 to $80,000.00
