Graphic Designer – Independent Trucks

Independent Trucks is looking for an experienced and multi-faceted Graphic Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate has previous experience working in graphic design, has designed in a team setting, is a self-starter with attention to detail and takes direction well. You are a self-professed art/graphic design nerd and have a portfolio that shows it. You know the rules of graphic design but are not afraid to break them. No job is too big or too small, you are just down for the cause, and stoked to be making some of the coolest stuff in skateboarding. 

Position Type: Full Time, Salary Position 

What You will Do:

You will be a key member of the Independent Design team and will have the opportunity to contribute your ideas and talents to one of the most respected brands in skateboarding. You will work directly with the Independent Art Director, Brand Manager and other designers on the conceptualization and execution of a variety of design projects. Projects include apparel & hardgoods design as well as marketing collateral for both print and digital. If hired, you will be expected to consistently create innovative, on-brand designs that support our brand’s unique identity and creative direction. 

What You Need:

  • Able to work 40+ hours/week
  • Passion for skateboarding, art, and apparel
  • Familiarity with NHS brand portfolio
  • Digital portfolio that demonstrates your design abilities and aesthetic
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design or 2-3 years of relevant experience
  • Advanced knowledge of the principles of graphic design including conceptualization, layout & typography
  • Experience with printed graphics - Hardgoods and Apparel a plus
  • Familiarity with screen-printing process and color separations
  • Previous experience designing digital assets for websites, ecommerce, social media, and email
  • Proficiency with Adobe suite – advanced knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, & InDesign
  • Organized, detail-oriented, multi-tasker with effective communication skills
  • Able to work independently to prioritize projects and manage workload
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet daily and weekly deadlines
  • Team player with a great attitude
  • Occasional travel required
